How long does rugby go on for?
The season runs from January to early March for U-10 and U-12. The U-14, U-16 and U-19 season runs from January through the end of April. Home games will be played at Valencia Heritage Park, on the corner of Newhall Ranch Road and McBean Parkway
What are the age categories?
Under 19 High School Boys (15-a-side Rugby
- tackle
Under 16 Boys (15-a-side Rugby - tackle)
Under 14 Boys (10-a-side Rugby - tackle)
Under 12 Boys (7-a-side -tackle)
Under 12 Non-Contact Coed (7-a-side)
Under 10 Non-Contact Coed (7-a-side)
Players may play up an age division if they are capable.
My child has never played rugby before, is it hard to learn?
Almost all of the players that join have never played rugby before. Kids pick the game rather easily. The Tiger coaching staff will teach the players everything he/she needs to know before the player actually plays against an opposing team in a fun and safe environment.
What are the costs of joining?
Registration fee is $200. This includes game jersey, shorts, socks, required registration with “USA Rugby Organization (usarugby.org)” and a club t-shirt.
What should I bring to practice and games?
Remember to always bring a mouthguard, whether you are going to practice or a game. Also bring cleats (soccer cleats are recommended...No toe cleats are allowed), athletic shorts, and a durable shirt (Yes, your t-shirt may get ripped). You also have the option to bring a rugby ball, which we are selling for $15 each. Here are the ball sizes for each division:
U10 - Size 3
U12 - Size 4
U14 - Size 4
U16 - Size 5
High School - Size 5

When are practices?
All teams practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00pm and will begin on December 2nd. Due to darkness, practices may end earlier at the beginning of the season
How about games?
Our home games are held at Valencia Heritage Park, on the corner of Newhall Ranch Rd., and McBean Pkwy. The address is 24155 Newhall Ranch Road. Start times and away games will be on the schedule page.
Must I show proof of age?
YES! Each player must prove his age with Photo ID. This can be accomplished by providing a copy of a passport, a copy of a green card, a copy of a DMV issued card or a copy of a birth certificate and a copy of a photo ID such as a student ID. This is to prevent over age players from playing in a division. A player may play up a division: for example, a U-14 player can play in a U-16 game but would not be allowed to play in a U-12 game. You can provide us with copies to keep or you can bring this proof to each league game.
